Copy and Paste in Excel - Part 2

Welcome all to the 2nd lesson of Copy and paste in Excel.

We have already learnt four option to paste the copied data in Excel. If you missed the lesson Please visit the Copy and paste in Excel - Part 1. Ok. let's see the 5th pasting option.  This option is called Formatting (R).
In this option we can be paste the format of the copied cells without changing the data of pasting aria. Let's see the below example.

Table 1                                                                                                 Table 2
Assume that you need to copy the format of  the Value column of Table 1 and paste it to the Value column of Table 2. Then you could use this paste option. You need to just copy the entire Value column in Table 1 and go to the first cell of the Value column (J2) and paste the copied date with Paste Option five [Formatting (R)]. Then you will be received the below result.

Here you can see only the format have copied to the Table 2 from the Table 1. Values of  formulas are not changed.

Now let's see the last option of the paste options. This is called Paste Link (N).
In this option The copied date will be linked to another worksheet or another destination of same worksheet. See the below image.

Table 1                                                                             Table 2

Assume that you need to get the Value column date of Table 1 to the Value column of Table 2 and also you need to automatically change the date of Table 2 when we change the data of Table 1.
This can be used to copy data from one worksheet to another worksheet of same workbook.
To do this just copy the data of Value column of the Table 1 and go to the Value column of the    Table 2 and paste with the paste option 5. The result will be as below.

After that you can change the value of the Price column or the Quantity column of Table 1. It will change the data of the Value column of the Table 1.
Now you can see the data of Value column of the Table 2 have changed as the Table 1. It means the Value columns are linked.
