Find ans Replace in Excel - Part 1

Hello,

In today post I'm going to write about the "Find and Replace" option in Excel. This is a very useful function to lots of our Excel works. Ok, Let's see how it works.

You can find this option in Home.

First I would like to write about the "Replace" option

Assume that you need to remove "Your bonus is Rs." phrase and need to get only the value from below data and replace with letters in front of the value. (You can replace any relevant data behalf of the removed data. But here in this example, I have selected not to replace any word behalf of removed data)

Just go and open "Find and Replace" window from Home.
You can open this window by clicking the "Find" option or "Replace" option also. Or with  "Ctrl +F" and "Ctrl+H" keyboard short cuts. See the below image for "Find and Replace" window

If you open the window by clicking "Ctrl+F" you will be shown "Find and Replace" window with the "Find" option. Then you need to shift to the "Replace" option by clicking the "Replace" tab.

In this Excel sheet, there are limited data and this is the all data in this Excel sheet. In this kind of times, we can be used this option without selecting a specific area.
After opening the window you need to type to be removed data in "Find what".
Then you need to type the be replaced data in "Replace with".

In here I don't want to replace anything behalf of removed data. Therefore I didn't enter anything in "Replace with". Then you need to do just click on the "Replace All" button. Then all the "Find what" date will be replaced with "Replace with" data.

But, assume that there are lots of data more than here and there are the same word or phrase which we have entered in "Find with", then you need to select an area what you need to be replaced and after that, you need to do this prosses. See the bellow image.

Then you will be seen that only the selected area changed. After you replaced the data you can change the format of the selected area to same to the other value format.

I will write a post about the "Format Cell" option in future to change the cell formats.
Thank you. Please don't forget to put a comment here.
